President Donald Trump has embraced Republican legislation that would dramatically reduce legal immigration and shift the nation toward a system that prioritizes merit and skills over family ties.
However, financial experts warn that the GOP plan could actually hurt the American economy because economic growth depends on expanding the workforce, not shrinking it, as the plan seemingly would accomplish.
